There are 2 ways to participate to the Kayak for Kids event, either as part of the Teams Challenge or in the Bring-Your-Own Boat category.
Bring-Your-Own Boat
This can be completed in a single or double kayak or surf ski. You provide your own craft, paddles and PFDs and paddle the whole course (21km).
Authorised water craft:
There must be at least 3 entrants per category for the category to be recognised.
Please contact Alina alina@arocsport.com.au if you wish to enter the event and your craft is not part of the above list.
Teams Challenge
3-person sit-on-top kayaks, paddles and Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are included in the entry fee for these categories. The kayaks are a Toy Boy Voyager III model which are very stable and suitable for all paddling abilities including complete novices.
Teams of 3: all male, all female or mixed teams (at least one male and one female, the 3rd team member can be either a male or a female). The team paddles the whole course of 21km.
Teams of 6: all male, all female or mixed teams (at least 2 males and 2 females make up the team; the remaining people can be either gender). The first trio of paddlers will go from the Start to Transition Area 3 at Clifton Gardens (12.6km). The second trio of paddlers will take over at Transition Area 3 (Clifton Gardens) and paddle to the Finish line (8.4km).
Teams of 7-15: all male, all female or mixed teams (at least 3 males and 3 females make up the team and must paddle at least one leg of the course; the remaining people can be either gender). Trios paddle each leg. You can change over any number of paddlers at any of the designated transition areas along the way in any combination. Paddlers can paddle more than one leg, one after the other or broken down. There are a total of 5 legs.
There is over $10,000 worth of prizes from Mion footwear, Solution paddling gear, Rudy Project sunnies and an amazing Dagger Hula sit-on-top kayak that will go to one lucky participant!
Winners in each category will be awarded prizes.

You must be present (or have a representative present) at the presentation to pick up your prize. Prizes will not be mailed out after the event.
