This fantastic fundraising event is open to anyone, from the complete novice to the competitive paddler, and you can paddle solo or part of a friendly social, family, sport team. KAYAK FOR KIDS is the perfect corporate team building event, reinforcing team spirit and satisfying employees' sense of fun and adventure!

The course, which is one of the most scenic and iconic paddling courses in the country, stretches 21km from a start at Manly Cove, passing by many of the beautiful inner harbour beaches, Sydney Opera House, Kirribilli Point and under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to a finish location at Blues Point.

Enter using your own boat as a solo paddler or in a double and complete the full 21km:

OR

Enter as a team of 3 or tag-teams of 6 or even 7-15 paddlers and select stages to complete according to your team's fitness levels. Participating is easy and you don't even have to own a boat or watercraft to enter: very stable 3-person sit-on-top kayaks are provided!

Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams and solo competitors in each category with special prizes for the best fundraising teams and individuals.

WHAT IS LIFESTART?

Established in 1996, Lifestart is an early childhood intervention program for children with intellectual disabilities or delays in development including Autism and Down Syndrome. This not-for-profit organisation helps these children reach their potential by providing a community-based program managed by families, for families working with professionals such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists and special educators. Participating to KAYAK FOR KIDS is one great opportunity to help a vital cause while having a great time on the water paddling in an iconic location. It will be a great day for you and a better lifetime for them. For more information on Lifestart <click here>.

Event Format

Bring-Your-Own Boat

This includes either single or double kayaks or surf skis. You bring your own craft and paddle the whole course (21km). For more information on authorised craft types <click here>

Teams Challenge

You can enter a team from 3 to 15 members to complete the course. At all times 3 paddlers must be in the water on the 3-person kayak (provided), but can change over or "tag" relay-style new paddlers to swap into the craft for the next stage. Paddle as much or as little as you can manage!

Teams of 3: paddle the full distance (21km) with no "tags".

Teams of 6: the course is broken into 2 parts. The first trio of paddlers will go from the Start to Transition Area 3 at Clifton Gardens (12.6km). The second trio of paddlers will take over at Transition Area 3 (Clifton Gardens) and paddle to the Finish line (8.4km).

Teams of 7-15: trios of paddlers from the same team can relay each other ("tag") at any Transition Area along the way in any combination. Paddlers can paddle more than one leg, one after the other or broken down.
