At Lifestart Every Milestone is Celebrated.

For children with intellectual disabilities such as Autism or Down Syndrome there is no cure. But with Early Intervention these children will reach their potential.

Lifestart is an Early Childhood Intervention service for families of children with intellectual disabilities or developmental delays, with the emphasis on the involvement of the family. It is truly a partnership between the parents and the professionals to reach the best outcome for each individual child.

Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Special Educators work alongside the parents to achieve milestones that other parents take for granted. No matter what the diagnosis, each child is an individual and goals are set with the family and worked on daily.

“It's like watching little miracles happen everyday,” said Lifestart Inner West Area Coordinator, Heather Craven. “It's no wonder the staff at Lifestart are so passionate about what they do.” “I have the best job in the world,” said Lifestart Area Coordinator Cumberland Prospect, Fiona Phipps, “I get to play with children all day, I see them develop and I see the families faces when their child reaches a milestone that they had previously been told may not happen at all.”

Children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy or other developmental disabilities or delays are all part of Lifestart which now includes over 300 families in the greater Sydney metropolitan area. You can help make these miracles happen every day for more families by challenging your colleagues in Kayak for Kids.

It's a great day for you and a better lifetime for them.
