7.2.2010 - Things are still looking good - we are just waiting on an official letter to arrive and then we will make an announcement for when entries will open. We hope to do this by mid February.

15.1.2010 - Entries to Capital Punishment 2010 will open early February 2010. We do not have a precise date at this point but if you want to be notified by email when registration opens, make sure you have an AROC login. If you do not already have an AROC login then create one today by clicking here, and you will be kept updated about the event. Apologies about this delay.

8.4.2009 - We are now entering into positive talks with Defence personnel regarding Capital Punishment and the use of some sensitive Defence land. It may however take another few months to gain final approval if the negotiations are successful. In the meantime we have decided to postpone this year's event. If approval is obtained, the most likely outcome for a new event date will be Saturday 29th May 2010. In the meantime, thank you to the many out there who have supported this event so far. Lots of people wrote letters to The Minister in favour of the event and we have been inundated with queries. Stay tuned for further information over the coming months. We will not have anymore information until a final decision is made. When that happens, information will be posted here immediately. We apologise for any inconvenience and would like to thank Defence for their cooperation in trying to find a solution. We have always made our AROC Sport courses as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Linking all of Canberra's fabulous mountain bike trails requires access through this piece of Defence land. The alternative is a 20km section of major bitumen road which would make the event 115km long. We would rather not hold the event than to put you through such boredom.
Thanks again.

The AROC Team

17.2.2009 - We are in the process of securing access from Defence through a vital piece of land, and have had to delay entries for that reason. We apologise for this. The decision is being appealed and we hope to have good news soon.

Thanks for your patience and support.

5.1.2009 - A new event is born, welcome to Capital Punishment, the Best MTB tracks Canberra has to offer combined into a 100km enduro course to remember! Click here for the media release.
