1:35pm: Andrew Lee is well on the way to breaking the course record and has just flown into CP4 at Katoomba Oval.
12:51pm: 401 - Team blackheart have come through CP3. Also through CP3 is No. 3 (Tim Cochrane), 174, 297 and 204. There is only 5 minutes separating Tim Cochrane, Clarke McClymont (174) and Phillip Whitten (297).
Andrew Lee who was with Andrew Kromar left CP3 at 12:10.
12:30pm: Andrew Kromar has withdrawn from the event. A pre-exisiting ankle injury was just not holding up. What a shame because he was absolutely flying on on track to beat 10 hours.
The first runner through CP2 was Andrew Kromar together with Andrew Lee at 10:20. Team blackheart were 3rd in at 10:40. We will get a list of people through CP2 shortly.
The timing is happening but unfortunately with long distance mountain reception not uploading to the site.
There are 333 runners out on the course today embarking on this 100km epic. There was some wind last night but it seems to be dying down. A little bit of mist this morning but the clouds are lifting. All is boding well for a good day out in the Blue Mountains.
9:40am - 163 runners have passed through CP1.
At Checkpoint 1 at the 17km mark Andrew Kromer was in first in a blistering time of 1 hour 29 minutes just 10seconds ahead of Andrew Lee. Last years third place getter Tim Cochrane was a further 10 minutes behind.
Andrew Kromar is back to defend his 2008 title. Dean Karnazes has popped over from the USA to check out this amazing race. He ran a 350km race last week and just flew in last night so this little 100km should at least get him over the jet lag.
