AROC 24 Hour Adventure

AROC has run several 24 hour events over the years. These events started with the first 24 hour event in 2005 based right in the heart of Canberra. In 24 hours you can cover some distance so the event was certainly not limited to just the city area with the course exploring the mass of surrounding bushland.

Canberra again hosted the 2006 AROC 24 hour event and this time exploring some more of the south. In 2007, AROC took the 24 hour event to Barlings Beach on the NSW South Coast and introduced some spectacular coasteering, trekking and paddling legs. This is also where the best single track in Australia was discovered that now forms part of the Netti MTB Enduro.

In 2008 the Edge of Reality was born. Supported by Mountain Hardwear, this event was the pinnacle of adventure racing taking teams to their limit over a 50 hour non stop expedition course. Beachcombers Holiday Park at Blackfellows Point on the South Coast provided the magical base. With 7m jump-ins, swimming through channels, epic treks through the old growth forest, paddling down rivers, 1000's of metres in elevation gain on bike - this event was truly one of the best yet.
