13.02.08 - Canberra rises to the adventure race challenge
Over 130 teams have registered for the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race to be held on 23 February in Canberra. This has broken all records for Canberra by far - and with over 400 people at the start line, this will be one of Canberra's biggest sporting events yet.

8.02.08 - special paddle session available
A one off chance to get some paddling practice in before the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race in Canberra. The kayaks used for the event will be available for hire on Monday 18 February between 4:30pm and 7pm. Lake Burley Griffin at Commonwealth Place (where the international flag display is). $10 per person. You can paddle the kayaks as a two or a three. Paddles and PFDs also provided.

9.12.07 - The biggest yet
It is going to be huge! There are a 180 teams signed up for the Avoca event. Remember - with this many people running around - be patient, smile and have fun!

7.12.07 - Canterbury Bulldogs come back for more adventure racing
After trying out last years Brindabella Challenge event in Canberra the Canterbury Bulldogs - first grade team, are coming back for more fun off season training and will be there in full force at the Avoca event. We are not too sure that they have been practicing their navigation skills so don't get a fright when you find some big boofy blokes right on your heals hoping you are going the right way.

29.10.07 - One night only - chance to practice your paddling in Canberra
Get prepared for the first event of the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race in Canberra. Make the most of the opportunity to try out the boats, of if you have done an AROC event before - become re-acquainted with them.

When: Thursday 8 November 2007
Time: 4:00pm to 7:00pm (turn up any time over this 3 hour period and paddle for as long as you like)
Where: Reconciliation Place, Lake Burley Griffin (between Questacon and High Court)
Cost: $10 per person (kayaks, PFDs and paddles provided)

1.09.07 - Paddy Pallin ARS introduces a special Novice Course
There is no excuse now! Those claims of too unfit, too young, too old, too busy just don't work any more. Now you can enter the Novice Course - only half the distance of the Classic Course (the traditional length AROC Adventure). This is really something that anyone can do. Perfect for first time adventurers or families, the Novice Course will take teams around 1-2 hours to complete but still have all the elements of adventure racing. Kayaking, mountain biking and foot legs are still included as is some simple navigation. Use the Novice Course as your first step into fitness and adventure racing.

1.09.07 - Paddy Pallin signs on as naming rights sponsor for the AROC Adventure Series
Australia's leading outdoor adventure store is teaming up with AROC Sport to bring you the best in adventure racing. The former AROC Sport Adventures will now be know as the Paddy Pallin Adventure Race Series.
