Think you know the Capital City? Well, think twice, because with the Deuter Rat Race, you’ll experience Canberra like never before. For 12 hours, on Saturday 15 March 2008, teams of 3 will navigate between the bush and the urban jungle to gather as many points as possible. Each checkpoint and challenge on the course is worth points that participants accumulate all through the race. There is no particular order to hit these checkpoints, so it will be up to each team to devise a strategy that plays on their strength!
Create your own adventure: decide how far you will go and how fast you will travel! There is no pressure if you have decided to take it easy: take a break for lunch, sip a cappuccino in the arvo and go at your own pace! If you’re more competitive, go full-on for 12 hours straight and complete as many challenges as possible: some are pretty straight forward like finding a checkpoint on foot, mountain bike or kayak, but some are trickier like solving mysteries, or loads of fun like bowling or eating pizza!
This event is a bit like your personal amazing race: whatever your level you will have a great time and a laugh. And there is even a 6-hour option, the Mouse Chase, available if you can’t get up early in the morning, or want to be back home before dark!
Kayaks, paddles, PFDs are provided and no support crew is necessary.
Entry fee is $155 per person for the Deuter Rat Race 12hr course and $95 per person for the Deuter Mouse Chase 6hr option.
