6 January 2007: AROC 24 Hour – the best yet

The Eurobodalla Coast, the location for this years AROC 24 hour, will be zoned as a marine park later this year so this will be your last chance to race along this part of the coast. The area between Batemans Bay and Moruya is amazing and has given us so much to work with. In true AROC style we have spent lots of time checking out the area and making sure the course has all the best parts of this beautiful country and is set to be super exciting. The thing that marks this course is the incredible variety. There is the most awesome coasteering with jumps into crystal clear water, paddles in beautiful estuaries and out into the ocean, rogaining through rainforest and into open woodland, mountain biking along the spectacular coastline cliff tops and beaches and then on smooth single tracks through rainforest. There are a few pieces of gradual downhill single track where you don’t need to pedal for over 1km as you just sweep around banked corners. The course is amazing and enjoyable but will also be challenging. The winners will be deserving of their prizes.

In summary, the course is fantastic and you will not be disappointed. If there is only one 24 hour event that you do – make it this one as it will be the best in Australia without doubt and you will be kicking yourself if you miss it. There are even some Swedish backpackers manning TA6.

The AROC 24 hour will also be the Silver Jubilee for Matt Koerber (Adrenalin Adventure – TerraX) – this will be Matt’s 25th AROC race! Of the 24 AROC events he has done so far he has had 16 podium finishes but no outright wins yet – perhaps this will be the one…..

Early bird entries close this Monday 8 January at midnight. Enter by Friday 12 January and you also go in the draw to win a Vicious Power light system worth over $1000. These lights are the best around so it would be a great asset for the event.

The AROC 24 Hour has heaps of prizes on offer, thanks to our new sponsors for this event. The members of the winning mixed team will each receive a pair of The North Face Ultra 103 adventure shoes worth $189, a Salomon 3/2 wetsuit worth $349 and a pair of Briko sunglasses. There is also a Scarpa kayak worth over $1,000 to be won as well as Salomon gear, Briko sunglasses, 2XU clothing and each participant will receive product from Hammer Nutrition.
