$10,000 in prizes including $5,000 cash!!!
General Information
Australia's only truly urban 24 hour event is heaps of fun for the first time 24 hour adventure racer and the more experienced alike. If you want a bit of a challenge but not quite up to a full 24 hours then there is also a 12 hour option.
Canberra is a perfect setting for the urban adventure race with the lots of great tourist attractions and lots of bush and parkland surrounding the city areas. There are some great coffee shops - if you are going to stop for a cappuccino then it should be a good one- and we have heard that there are more restaurants per capita in Canberra then anywhere else in the world!! But there is also lots of bush close by and this year you will be surprised at all the 'remote' sections.
There will be some great surprises, beautiful scenery and lots of action so come prepared. There will be a rope section (No climbing/abseiling equipment or experience will be required) and some magnificent single track out at the world class Sparrow Hill. There is a compusory 15 minute stop at Debacle where there will be free pizza to re-fuel and a kickbike section around the city (kickbikes provided).
The format of the course is a little different to last year. The course is a fixed course meaning that checkpoints must be visited in a set order. The course should be able to completed by most teams within the 24 hour period. For those speedy teams that complete the course in under 16 hours they will move to the advanced course and complete an additional leg of 4-7 hours.
For the 12 hour course, the faster teams should expect to finish in around 7- 8 hours and the slower teams - well you have 12 hours.
Entry confirmation and any further event information not contained on the web site will be emailed to the Team Captain. It is the Team Captains responsibility to pass this information on to their team members.
