Race Information - updated 17 April 2007

This final AROC event for the 2006-07 summer season has been hugely popular with over 120 teams registered. We have been able to open it up to another 10 teams but already it looks like it will be sold out. The Raffertys Stockland Adventure Race is now the biggest adventure race in Australia!

The Raffertys Stockland Adventure Race will be held at the Wallarah Peninsula at East Lake Macquarie. It is a beautiful area and we have a great course in store for you with some exciting coasteering (running around the coast line), bush navigation, single track mountain biking and a spectacular paddle. There is a bonus leg for those faster teams that finish in under 3 hours and the rest of the field have a leisurely 5.5 hours to complete the standard course. Just take it easy and slowly and you will be fine. In all you will cover 9km on foot, 20km on your mountain bike and 3.5km kayaking. Remember there are lots of different legs so there is never too long at any one discipline.

There are heaps of prizes. In addition to the normal adventure gear there are also Murrays Beach Picnic Sets, Stockland and Raffertys wines and a great Raffertys weekend away for the team that wins the highly sought after Happy Pants Award.

There will be a free BBQ for all competitors at the finish kindly provided by Stockland. And everyone is welcome to attend the grand finale end of season party - the Blue & Yellow Beach Party at Raffertys Resort from 6pm on the Saturday night. Come dressed for the occasion and go in the draw for the lucky door prizes.

There are lots of new teams entered and just to make sure you enjoy your first time we will be conducting a special novice training / briefing on the Friday night at Raffertys Mercure Resort 7.30pm - 8.30pm. An abridged version of this will be repeated on the Saturday morning. If it is your first adventure race we highly recommend attending the novice briefing. It will make your day so much more enjoyable.

Disciplines include kayaking (kayaks, paddles and PFDs provided), mountain biking and running/walking and some surprises. You will be given maps and instructions at registration and it is up to you to navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint. Remember the whole team travels together.

Entry confirmation and any further event information not contained on the web site will be emailed to the Team Captain. It is the Team Captains responsibility to pass this information on to their team members.
