The AROC Championships will be held in the beautiful NSW Central Coast at Ettalong Beach. The AROC Championships 2006 would also like to welcome on board a new sponsor - the Ettalong Beach Club and Outrigger Ettalong Beach Resort. The resort will be the very stylish AROC headquarters for the weekend and a great place for you to hang out. The Resort offers a range of studio, one bedroom and two bedroom suits. All have balconies and spa baths and there is a resort style pool and state of the art gymnasium for guests. For details on the special AROC Accommodation Deals see below.
Race Information
After testing yourselves on the shorter events this last race of the season will test out all the adventure racing skills you have acquired and all in the exotic location of the NSW Central Coast. This is the opportunity to put your team to the test against the best. A little harder and a little longer this race will take 5 - 10 hours to complete. This is real adventure racing so there are lots of different legs and you have to navigate. If you add up all the legs the total distances are around 12-15km on foot, 6-8km kayaking and 25-30km on the mountain bike.
If you have just got into the adventure racing groove or just want to stick to the shorter events then there is also an AROC Championships short course option. This is suitable for the novice or the more experience just not wanting to go too long. The short course will take teams around 2.5 to 5 hours to complete and is similar to the AROC Sport Adventures. Total distances are approx 4-6km paddling, 7-10km on foot and 15-20km on the mountain bike.
Here are some glimpses of the course. It is magnificent. There is some awesome coasteering and fantastic ocean views.
