Team AROC/Mountain Designs wins Teva Oceania Championships 2004

Team AROC / Mountain Designs - Alina McMaster, Tom Landon-Smith and Matt Dalziel took out the 2004 Teva Championships.

It was a fast start after a bucket filling obstacle with a run/bike section - one bike for each team of 3 people. Alina was on the bike towing Tom and Matt managed to keep up on his own. Then a quick pump up of the boats and Tom and Matt paddled around to Black Mountain Peninsula while Alina rode the bike and checked out the instructions for the next challenge. A bit of quick thinking and Team AROC/ Mountain Designs managed to just head off in first place on the orienteering leg. Knowing the navigation would be the team's strong point, Team AROC/Mountain Designs pushed hard to make a break and ensure there would be no chance of teams following. Back to the boats, a few more obstacles on the way and back to the start area to collect the bikes. The team nailed the ropes obstacle requiring the team to carry the boat over and under a web of ropes without touching them.

The bike section was a hoot, especially the Speed Racer obstacle around the Majura Pines single track. All too quickly the race was at an end.

It was a fantastic race, we had heaps of fun. Thanks to Louise and Craig for putting on such a great event.
